The calm setting just outside the city made it easy to switch off, and check-in and check-out went smoothly even beyond normal hours. Staff were quick to answer our questions through the booking chat. The rooms are roomy and the kitchen was spotless, with all the cookware supplied from WMF. The sauna and steam bath are shared by everyone, which is nice, though separate options for men and women might feel more comfortable for some guests. A peaceful, well-run place for a relaxing break.

The receptionist only wanted to speak German, which isn't much help for a place in the travel business. Service was otherwise okay. The apartments are a little dated but well kept, and the hotel sits in the Black Forest near the Triberg waterfalls.

The little town and surrounding area are lovely for a walk, and we’d happily stay here again. It’s also pet friendly, though there was a lot of animal hair under the bed. Staff were incredibly warm and helpful. We liked the delicious restaurant, the honest grocery store, and being able to order bread for the morning. It worked really well for a longer stay.

We came back for a second family holiday and had another wonderful time. The resort has playrooms for toddlers and older kids. There's no pool on site, but a short five minute drive down the hill gets you to playgrounds, football and tennis, slides, or a swimming pool. The resort and staff gave us great suggestions for hiking and biking routes. Really lovely to be here.
