Landgasthaus Kaster

The Kaster Country Inn has been part of my life for nearly seven decades. Tucked into a quiet village high on a ridge near Cochem, it feels worlds away from the busy Moselle Valley, even though that’s only minutes off. Coming here brings a calm that lets both body and mind settle. The place is still family-run, and that warmth is something you don’t find often these days. Its cooking is simple, regional, and made with care, and the rooms are quiet and welcoming. Nothing feels put on. The atmosphere is relaxed, almost therapeutic. For me, this inn holds old memories and makes room for new ones. It feels like home, quietly touching the heart without asking for attention.

We decided on dinner there at the last minute and were given a lovely table. The food was delicious, the service good, and the price for what you get is excellent. We’d definitely go back.

We had to cancel three times because my wife underwent two breast cancer surgeries and I had a heart attack. NADINE didn’t take kindly to that and sent us a message saying we could no longer book there. Wonderful company. It’s all about MONEY.

After our hikes, ending the day with tasty food and a beer garden visit was just right. We were warmly welcomed and loved the quiet spot for our overnight stays overlooking the Moselle River. You can feel straight away that it’s a family-run business. We’d love to return.
