Hotel Herian

The hotel is a long way from the city and busy streets. There were no taxis in sight, so I had to get an Uber to leave, and getting here from the airport took forever. The staff's reception was good, though, and the business had a family feel. The food options were limited, but the quality was good. My room felt cozy despite the small single beds, and the linens and pillows smelled fresh and very clean. I paid a high rate because it was Oktoberfest and Exporeal season, but I imagine prices are fairer off-season. I'd still recommend checking it out if you're watching your budget.

We enjoyed the breakfast, and the price seemed reasonable, probably the cheapest we could find near Munich. The location works if you're travelling by car, but the hotel is far from any train station.

The staff were cheerful, welcoming and ready to help with anything, and the rooms were large and clean. There's plenty of free parking, too. The location is especially handy for Munich Messe, about a 10-minute drive away. Good price, and I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

The showers were a highlight, with strong pressure and water as hot as you'd want, or even hotter. There's free breakfast, and the staff are really nice. This hidden gem is one of my favourite hotels, well worth 60€. Getting there can be awkward: you need to get off at Grub and take the bus, otherwise it's a 30-minute walk. Google Maps doesn't show an easy route.
