The boss and his wife were really friendly and nice.

The owner said he had lost the desire to run the hotel and treated guests as if they were a burden. His attitude toward service and guest relations was disastrous, and I have never met anyone so rude. My night at what I consider the worst hotel in Neviges was an experience I never want again. If friendliness matters to you, I strongly advise choosing somewhere else.

We Bavarians do appreciate a cozy place, and this one made me feel more comfortable than almost anywhere I’ve stayed, despite traveling a lot. The owners were very friendly and even prepared special meals for us. The food was unusually good, and I also loved the wine and the excellent service. The small hotel has peaceful surroundings and beautiful old architecture, just the sort I like. We spent a weekend here, and I can highly recommend it.

We had a very tasty à la carte dinner when we asked for it, and breakfast was very good too. This quiet, beautiful hotel is in Velbert’s historic old town, in a restored old building with lovely rooms and new bathrooms. The stairs are quite steep, so it may only partly suit people with mobility impairments.
