Gasthof Hotel zum Schwarzen Bären

I liked how peaceful the village was, and the food is good. People are kind, prices are very reasonable, and my room was spotless. The staff are friendly and professional. The surroundings aren't especially remarkable, but if quiet suits you, this family-run hotel is a treat.

There isn't much nearby in the way of attractions, and the community is tiny. Still, for a quiet, restful night it's perfectly adequate. I stayed during a WWII theme tour. The hotel is small and clean, with balconies spilling over with bright geraniums.

Room no. 11 was neat and spotless, with one double bed and two single beds arranged tidily. The bathroom was small but didn't feel cramped, and it was clean and stocked with shower gel, shampoo, towels and a dryer. I'm usually very particular about bathrooms, and I liked this one. There was even a laundry bag in the cupboard, something I haven't seen in other hotels I've stayed at. We booked one night. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in is at 15pm, but we arrived at 12:30pm because we had to get ready for a funeral, and they happily let us into the room early. I'd been worried about where we'd change if they couldn't. Breakfast was good, with tea, coffee, kakao, a cold platter, cheese, butter, fresh juice, fruit and mortadella. I initially thought there were no cooked or scrambled eggs, but correction, they do have them, so check the buffet card. For a one- or two-night stay, I didn't miss eggs anyway. The only drawback is the price, which feels a little high for a small town without even one bakery. For shopping, you have to drive to the next town, though it's only 2.5kms away. The hotel is otherwise perfect. I'd recommend it and book again for a short stay if needed. :)

Everything has been recently renovated, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that they walked me to my room and made sure I was happy with it. It's a nice, quaint place for an overnight stay, and I'd definitely stay here again.
