Panoramahotel Waldenburg

A clean, well-kept little boutique hotel with breathtaking views. The area around it is completely dead, though, with literally nothing to do.

I stayed one night in October 2025 and had a wonderful time. I only wish I could have stayed longer. My room had two twin beds, and the room was very neat. The bed, pillows, and bedding were all super comfortable. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious: I had a burger with sweet potato fries and a tasty pumpkin soup. Breakfast came as a buffet with lots of variety. Lovely hotel, and I'd definitely come back.

Dear Panorama Hotel, I was very disappointed by how I was treated when I arrived at around 3 AM after a 12-hour trip. I was exhausted and didn't notice the doorbell, so I knocked quietly. Mr Sheikh opened the door as though I owed him something and wasn't welcome. He irritatedly pointed out the bell and said I shouldn't knock, without showing much respect to a guest. Checking in with him was difficult too. Because of the language barrier, it was sometimes hard to understand him. He tossed me a form to fill in; I completed it, but he stayed unpleasant. After giving me the key, he didn't explain where my room was, as if that wasn't his responsibility. The worst part was when some small change fell on his desk. I asked three times if he could give it back so I could pay the room amount without using lots of metal coins, and he ignored me each time. The spa is modern and especially soothing on cold days, and the hotel offers good value for the price. The rooms are spacious, with a great view. The restaurant and bar are also excellent, with the valley as a backdrop and a very good selection of food and drinks. Breakfast wasn't anything extraordinary, but it had all the obvious food and drinks.
