Villa Bosco - Boutiquehotel

The rooms are spacious and very clean, the breakfast is relatively good, and the location is excellent. But the hotel has a serious problem providing basic service. It's fully digital, and I'm not sure guests are warned ahead of time. That has a very negative effect on service. I arrived on Sunday night to find the place deserted, with the main door locked and nobody at reception. A note said to use the app, but it wouldn't open. Apparently I first needed to connect to the hotel wifi. I got connected by standing close to the door, then managed to open the app, but it only offered a way to unlock my room, not the main entrance. No one answered the intercom. After 15 minutes I was furious and ready to leave and find somewhere else to sleep. Eventually someone answered and let me in. So unprofessional. During my five-day stay, I saw an actual person at reception only once, for about two hours. I wanted to ask if I could leave my bags in a locker room after checkout, but there was nobody to ask, and I'm not even sure that was an option. The elevator broke on the second day. I was on the third floor, and going up and down the stairs was a huge pain because I have a mild physical disability. A hotel worker said they didn't know when it would be fixed because they were waiting for a part. I understand that these things happen, but why not offer help with guests' suitcases? There was nobody at reception to ask.

The team clearly works hard to make guests comfortable and provide what they need. The rooms are spacious, breakfast is tasty, and they even have smoked salmon, quite a 5* feature. Service was great too. The digital reception can be tricky at first, and it still doesn't provide a digital room key. Probably the hotel's only downside.

I like this hotel so much that I stop here when I'm traveling south, even though it's not downtown Stuttgart. No hassle, good quality throughout, and a good price. Best hotel ever.

Being locked out in the garage with no wifi was really unpleasant. If guests need internet access, there should be coverage everywhere. We also had trouble opening our room door, and these smaller problems kept cropping up every few hours. Calling service sometimes got an answer, but most of the time we were ignored. Other guests were stuck too, waiting to check in. We lost an hour before we could finally check in. When a hotel chooses to run without staff or a reception and go fully digital, you'd expect the systems to work. We had a terrible time and wasted a lot of time and energy. Dear Hotel Bosco Team, please don't reply with a slick marketing message that talks down what happened. Your hotel has serious issues, and nice emails can't give back the hours we lost.
