It was easy to get to lots of places on foot, even without a car, and the beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away. The apartment sits just behind the dike, in a pleasant residential area. Although the main road is right outside, we weren’t disturbed and found it quiet. The hosts were so friendly and communication was great, which alone would be worth five stars. We felt very welcome. The apartment was lovely, spotless and had everything we needed for a holiday. :-)

We had always been very happy with the place when Mr. Pörtke owned it. Since Mr. Vogel took over, the apartment has been filthy, and there are more spiders and mosquitoes inside than you'd find in a zoo. The kitchen is poorly equipped, and each night we worried the bed might give way under us. In just one season, the Pörtke family's good reputation has been undone. Other guests we talked to, who had stayed with the Pörtke family too, felt the same way.

We booked several apartments for a short family break, and the landlord was always easy to reach. The beach, shops, ice cream, and restaurants are all walkable, and the place has what you need. They even found us a grill on the spot. You can park at the house or about 50 meters away. It'd help to assign spaces to apartments, so people who don't want to walk don't block the emergency access.

It's been about 12 years since I was last there. My boyfriend's grandparents used to be the landlords, and they were both so nice. The apartments were always really clean.

We feel very at home here. The rooms are roomy and the beds are comfortable, and it's clean. Towels and bed linens are provided along with all the other amenities. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away.
