We were four, two adults and two children, and stayed in the apartment for a week. The space worked well for us, with room to spare, and the two separate bedrooms were one of the main reasons we booked. There's also a large balcony. The beach is about a 12-minute walk along a path right beside the dike, and the location is fantastic. Our arrival was uncomfortable. The landlord, a very old, unfriendly man, greeted us, and there was a strong musty smell as soon as we opened the front door. The stairs up to the apartment are very steep, and the apartment itself has no separate entrance door. We hadn't realized this when booking, and it surprised us. The landlord says he can no longer manage the stairs, but in theory anyone coming into the house could walk into the apartment. The place was much older than it looked in the photos. Everything felt old, including the stove, which took forever to boil water. The kitchen appliances did work, but they weren't clean, so we washed the dishes, cutlery, glasses, and cups before using them. Cleanliness overall was lacking too, and we vacuumed and wiped things down ourselves. That's not the start to a vacation you'd hope for.
