We didn’t have the room cleaned during our two-night stay, and the one in the “white house” smelled like cat (?) urine. The curtains were useless, so the sun woke us at 5 am. There was no air conditioning in that building, the carpet was stained, and the room needs renovation. Check-out is at 10 am and reception closes at 15 pm. The Burg itself is lovely, with attractive buildings, lawns to relax on, and flowers to enjoy. It was quiet despite three weddings while we were there, and they didn’t disturb us. There’s a lot of potential here, but it needs more care and more staff. I saw them struggling to handle all the guests, especially during the weddings. The staff were nice, especially the waitress, once you managed to catch someone. They barely speak English, though, which made it hard to communicate or sort out problems. When we wanted to eat, we waited over 15 minutes at the table with nobody coming to help us or the other guests, so we had to get the plates and cutlery ourselves.

The food was good, and our room was clean and new. Still, we’d expected to stay in the Burg, but our room was outside it, which was disappointing.
