The sauna area was peaceful and very good. The room was fine and spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly. The bathroom felt quite small for the size of the room, and some rooms are close to the road, so you may hear traffic. The village itself was very quiet. We stayed one night and had trouble getting used to the German setup of separate beds and separate duvets instead of one proper king bed with a shared cover, though that seems common almost everywhere. Breakfast was adequate. Dinner in the main restaurant was a disappointment: bland food that looked nothing like the pictures in other reviews, slow service, and seriously expensive for rural Germany.

I can’t comment on the hotel, but the restaurant was fantastic, especially for traditional German food. The Sauerbraten with dumplings was incredible. The rustic hunting-club look was lovely too, with actual wild boar tusks on the wall while you eat wild boar. Asterix and Obelix would be so jealous!

We found the saunas a lovely place to spend a relaxing afternoon, with the temperature just right. It’s also a great starting point for long walks nearby. The hotel is very well maintained and quiet at night, with clean rooms, a nice bathroom, friendly staff, and great food.

Our dogs were welcome in both the room and restaurant, and even got treats for the night. Everyone was very nice, the food was excellent, and the place is lovely in a beautiful setting. :)
