Gasthaus Zur Sonne

We had our dogs with us, and they’d bark a little when other guests went up or down the stairs and into their rooms. Playing some music in our room stopped that. The place is opposite a church, and the bell woke us at 6am, though it didn’t ring for long. The road outside also gets fairly busy during the day. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with everything we needed except a fridge. The beds were too hard, and those awful plastic covers made the sheets slip around overnight. It wasn’t a restful experience. Still, it’s a lovely place. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was full every night. The food was delish.

Parking was easy, and the place wasn’t too full, so we could enjoy a quiet dinner. The food was good, and the beer was really good too. A nice spot for a peaceful evening with quality food.

Reservations are a good idea since the restaurant is usually full at midday and in the evenings. The regional dishes were delicious, and the staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient.

There’s no air conditioning in the room, and with the railway and trafficked road just outside, opening the windows wasn’t an option. The room itself was clean and in order, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. When we arrived at Gasthaus zur Sonne, the staff were very kind and professional. I’d highly recommend Gasthaus zur Sonne and hope they sort out the air conditioning problem in the future.
