The building is lovely, and the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was decent too, though nothing special. My two issues were the heat in the top-floor room, which made sleeping really difficult even with outside temperatures of only 20-25 degrees, and the shampoo and body wash, which seemed watered down for the price. I used the fan for the first two nights and ended up catching a cold. Aside from those problems, it’s a nice hotel.

We attended a wedding here on September 4, 2021, and had no complaints about the restaurant. The hotel itself was a different story. The room looked nice at first, though dated, and there were plenty of problems: water kept running in the toilet and disturbed our sleep, the bath wouldn’t drain, the curtains were worn and damaged, and there were no extra blankets for winter. There was no phone in either the room or bathroom, the sound insulation was poor, the windows were dirty, and there was no safe. We also couldn’t pay by card. The worst part was how reception handled our complaints after checkout. The man made jokes about Cologne, where we’re from, dismissed what we said, and didn’t apologize for the uncomfortable experience. He wasn’t open to a discussion. I usually try to find something positive and avoid dwelling on bad situations, but couldn’t here. Burg Wegberg Hotel presents itself as a four-star hotel, yet it falls far short of that. I can’t recommend it.

The restaurant is set outside in an open area, which I really liked. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful in the countryside, and the staff are very nice.

The breakfast and the area outside the hotel are great, and the location is lovely. Inside, both the rooms and the hotel could do with a style update, but hey...

I spent eight months living here years ago while working for Siemens. It was an absolutely wonderful hotel!
