Camping Schwabenmühle

I was exhausted and had to stop during my bikepacking trip, so I was relieved when someone suggested this place. The reception had a hotel feel, and everyone was bubbly, kind, and attentive at check-in. The facilities were really well maintained. I could order croissants and pretzels for breakfast, and they were serving delicious pizza on the outdoor terrace while I was there. It was bliss, and so calm. I was really glad I stopped.

We only stayed one night on the way through, though we would have happily stayed longer. The barrel was lovely, and the campsite and facilities were clean and really nice. They have a little shop with basics and local wine, too. We called that same day in mid-July to ask about a free barrel and were told there probably wasn't one. Then the staff called back soon after because one was being vacated, and offered it to us. They were so friendly.

The owners were really friendly, and the reception had cold beer and wine for sale. We only stayed one night, but everything was much nicer than I expected. Great campsite, spotless facilities, and excellent showers. 5/5.

The pitches had lots of room, the toilets were immaculate, and the bread was good. Staff were friendly, and I loved that they sold local wines. It was a really quiet campsite. In August the ground was very dry, so bring a solid hammer and strong, sharp tent pegs. It got down to 7degrees at night, so take a good sleeping bag. Otherwise, a perfect stay 🙂🙂
