The way I was treated made me cancel my overnight booking and leave before seeing the room, so I can't rate it. When I arrived, someone at the door asked, "what do you want here ?" It struck me as odd, but I tried not to make too much of it. Once I was let in, the welcome still felt cold. I told the woman at reception I'd like to be treated more kindly. She said something along the lines that she had a lot to do and my request for friendliness wasn't high on her list of priorities. I then asked to cancel and left. Friendliness and respect are the bare minimum for a paying customer.

Everything worth seeing is nearby, and it's easy to get to the town centre. There's a great park close by, along with lovely bars and restaurants in weimar. Goethe is buried in the nearby cemetery, where you'll also find the wonderful orthodox Chapel.

The older woman at reception was unacceptably rude.

We had everything we needed at breakfast, served in a stylish dining room, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The hotel is a beautiful villa with style and character. Our room was spacious, clean, and very well cared for, as was the rest of the place. I don't understand the negative comments about the bathroom and breakfast.

Before we arrived, the staff helped us work out which bus to take from the train station. They were friendly and helpful during our stay, recommending things to do as well as small restaurants and cafes around town. It's a nice, small hotel. Breakfast was generous, with a good range of fruit, bread and rolls, muesli, cold cuts, cheese, vegetables, jam, and fresh coffee. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated, and you could also eat on a small balcony. In the evening, guests could take alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks from a fridge and pay for them the next morning.
