Akzent Hotel Restaurant Altdorfer Hof

A few weeks after my first stay, I came back and the receptionist had read my review. She offered me a small memory foam pillow, which was a nice touch, thanks. On the first visit, I had a decent single room and a very good shower. The German pillows were the usual kind I find horrible. Breakfast was included and good, and I enjoyed dinner too. It’s a decent, very typical German hotel.

We came over Easter to hear the Gabler organ in the Basilica and stayed five nights. Room 10 was comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with such friendly attention from Margot and Õzge.

The three course dinner was delicious, and the service was attentive and polite. The hotel is dog friendly, and our room was lovely and clean, though it was a shame the balcony wasn’t, especially since we’d booked a suite. A coffee machine or kettle in the room would have been nice. Breakfast was good quality but had limited choice. The waitress said we couldn’t sit in the main restaurant because there were no set tables, though other guests were seated there. We explained we wanted a quiet spot for our dog, but were put in a side room with lots of families and young children running around. That isn’t usually a problem, but it wasn’t relaxing.

The staff really made my stay at AKZENT. They were friendly and smiley, and spoke several languages, which helped since my German wasn’t great. The rooms were fancy and super clean, and breakfast felt like a treat every morning. The food was a whole adventure, with every bite full of flavor. Big thanks to the staff for sorting me out with such good dishes. I’d stay here again, thumbs up!
