Weichaer Hof

The restaurant serves great local food, much of it made on site, and the apartments are mostly modern and well equipped. It’s a lovely rural spot and a good base for trips around the Ober Lausitz.

We had a small family get-together at Weichaer Höfe in November and felt right at home. The owners were kind and flexible, looked after everyone so well, and always had time for a personal chat. Our apartment was spotless, had everything we needed including a kitchen, and we slept really well. There’s a building across the road where they serve a great breakfast, and the restaurant and tavern are fantastic, especially for their homemade food. I especially liked the duck head cheese. You do need to be comfortable with a somewhat secluded location. You can rent bikes or explore by car, and there’s plenty of parking. I’ve taken off a star for the service because we placed a large dinner order and specifically asked for the children’s food, for the kids aged 4 and 2, to come first and as quickly as possible. That didn’t happen. The evening before, I also noticed the bread platter had no butter. I asked for some, but it never came. I don’t know why, maybe they were short staffed. The children always enjoyed the robot in the restaurant. The burger menu sounded great, but it wasn’t available on Friday or Saturday, which was a real disappointment. We’d still highly recommend staying here and are already looking forward to coming back in May for a big family celebration. Thanks, Undine, see you soon!

The whole team was so friendly and helpful, and we felt very comfortable here. We got a warm welcome and were even able to check in before 4 pm, which we really appreciated. They also shared lots of excursion tips. We decided to extend our stay, and arranging that was easy. The restaurant is well worth trying too, with high-quality regional ingredients.

We stayed in a quiet, comfortable holiday apartment in a very rural area, and the owners were helpful and friendly. They made sure every wish was taken care of and shared useful information and tips about outings and activities. There’s a restaurant belonging to the complex just across the road, with themed evenings twice a week.
