The location is excellent, and the staff were very friendly, but we left disappointed. The room was clean, though dated and very bare, and the bathroom looked like it belonged in the 1980s. Since it’s a gasthof, people chat loudly outside, so on warm summer nights you can’t really leave the windows open. Breakfast was just OK, with a limited selection. The pictures and descriptions had led us to expect more.

I stayed at Loewe for 12 days and would gladly return. The staff were extraordinary, always welcoming, kind, and helpful, and I loved both my room and the delicious breakfasts. It’s a historic hotel, so there’s no elevator and sound carries a bit, though I was still quite comfortable. Germany was unusually warm while I was there, and air conditioning would have helped. The bed could use an upgrade too.

I’ve been coming to Zum Löwen whenever I can for more than fifteen years, including for lunch or dinner during business trips. The meat is top quality, and all the dishes I’ve tried have been very good. Service is kind and friendly, and I haven’t found any negatives. Thanks for the warm welcome and consistently satisfying service. It’s one of my favorite Bavarian restaurants.
