SATAMA - Lodges

I booked an apartment with holiday brunch and access to the sauna at Satama, and was more than happy with the stay. The grounds are beautifully cared for and look almost new, with a big garden, kayaks and loungers beside the lake. The rooms were lovely and clean. After a day at the sauna, staying the night is well worth it. Thanks so much for a wonderful visit!

The construction work went on all around the building throughout our four-day stay. The noise made the terrace impossible to use, and inside we could feel the whole place vibrating. At reception I asked whether we could move to another apartment, since the holiday park seemed sparsely booked. They said no. I explained my husband was terminally ill and needed plenty of rest, but they said they couldn't do anything because the city was carrying out the work. My mom and aunt had given me a weekend in a holiday apartment and a sauna visit for my birthday. When my long-term partner became terminally ill, we married spontaneously, and my relatives turned the gift into a sort of honeymoon for us. It was our last holiday together, and it ended up being awful. My husband was too ill to use the sauna, but still had to pay full price for the spa and wear a bathrobe to go out to eat with me. They said otherwise anyone could come along and they'd lose track of everyone. I understand that, but this was an exceptional situation and I hoped they might make an exception. We offered to check in and out before and after meals, but there was no way. My aunt sent a written complaint and got a rude, uninterested response. That lack of empathy and consideration was appalling. One of the worst situations I've ever been through, even after working in the service industry.

We had a really pleasant stay, with lovely sauna facilities and very friendly service. We'd happily come back.

The view of Scharmützelsee made the stay, and the accommodation was clean, with a kitchenette too. We spent the whole day at the spa and didn't feel like making the long trip home afterward.
