We first visited "Alte Apotheke" and the family several times, and have returned in every season. It's always worth the trip. The apartments are clean, well equipped, and reasonably priced, and the house works well for people with allergies. The Pension is only a four-minute walk from the pedestrian area, with lots of restaurants and all kinds of shops. "Wernigerode Castle" is just above it. From town, you can take the train to "brocken" Mountain for a magnificent view.

The mix of old and new gives the place such a charming feel, and it's easy to feel at home. The owners are very attentive to their guests. You almost don't want to leave.

The owner is there in person and was very friendly and helpful. The holiday apartment is a good base for visiting other towns and attractions in the Harz Mountains, and the town center is within walking distance.

We spent a weekend at the Alte Apotheke at the end of March. The hosts were very nice. It's a beautiful house with lovely, clean and comfortable rooms, and everything was perfect. Great location, too!
