We felt comfortable in this clean holiday apartment, and having parking in the courtyard was handy. The old town is about a 15-minute walk away. The shower was frustrating: the pressure kept dropping and the water would turn cold by itself. We weren’t looking for a Kneipp cure. In cooler weather, a cozy blanket would be welcome on the cold leather furniture. The toilet roll was partly used, with no spare roll ready to replace it, and for us that was and still is a complete deal-breaker.

We stayed at the Sonneneck holiday apartment in mid-September 2024, and my dog was welcome too, which I especially appreciated. The hosts and tenants on the property were friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. They offered great excursion tips and even sent me off with a beer. The apartment was spotless, well maintained, cozy, and furnished with care. It had everything we needed, from a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds to a terrace. Its quiet position by the forest was great for unwinding after a day out, while still being centrally located. The town center, Wernigerode Castle, and the animal park were all easy to reach on foot. We felt right at home, and the value for money was unbeatable. Thanks for such a lovely stay. We’ll be back!
