For my partner’s 40th birthday, they did more than we’d expected, and every detail felt considered. Our room was spotless, beautiful, and had an amazing view of the castle. The hotel is incredible and very well situated, with an excellent buffet breakfast. We hope to return someday! Vielen Danke Zur Tanne ❤️

We were very comfortable in our cosy, well-designed and decorated room. Hotel Zur Tanne is right in the heart of the ancient town, which made the location great. Breakfast was great too, and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommended.

Our host Jörg was thoughtful and exceptionally friendly. We arrived more than an hour late after Deutsche Bahn delayed us, well past check-in time, and he waited patiently. He also made sure our three-year-old had everything needed in the room: a child bed, changing mat, toilet seat and stool for reaching the washbasin. We could ask him about the area, and he was there to make fresh coffee and scrambled eggs at breakfast if we wanted. Breakfast was tasty and wholesome. The location was handy, just minutes from the central market square, Rathaus and central train station. The place was clean and very cosy. Don’t expect a modern-looking hotel, since the Harz has a more traditional, earthy style, but the amenities were modern and top class. We loved everything and would be happy to stay again.

The room was a decent size, though the bathroom was small. I stayed here on a school trip and had a fantastic time. Breakfast was laid out well, and the service was good.
