Landgasthaus Pfahl

I had a spacious, fairly modern room, and you can tell they look after the place. There was a fridge in the room too, which I always appreciate. Landgasthaus Pfahl is a lovely old building in a quaint village in the Eifel park area. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar have more of a supper-club feel, and the food is great. Book ahead, it gets busy fast. It was an excellent stop on my way to the Nürburgring, about a 30-minute drive away along a beautiful route.

We stayed here during a Nürburgring trip and liked having a quiet place to unwind between outings. It's a really nice hotel in a small village, and the restaurant is good beyond breakfast too. I had a lovely boar stew with spätzle.

The room was huge and clean, and from the balcony we could look out over the scenery at sunrise. We had called at 4:30 pm to ask about staying the night; they called back and kindly said they could take us. The hotel is in a tiny, charming village with fachwerk buildings and the usual rolling German countryside around it. At the restaurant, the food was great, including the bread spread and drinks. They use local ingredients like wild deer hunted in Eifel, pigs raised in Eifel, and mushrooms. The waiters were attentive and spoke English. It was one of our best stays in a while, and we're grateful for another lovely memory.

We were pleasantly surprised by the service. The waiters were so lovely, and we haven't had service like that in a long time. The food was tasty, there was plenty of it, and the prices were reasonable. We really liked the restaurant and especially the staff. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely visit again.
