Die Schlafbude

The room was small, but cozy and clean, and the bed was truly comfortable. The bath had hand soap and shower gel. I was there for the Gamescom trade fair, and public transport made getting here easy. It's not central, but Kölnmesse is less than an hour away that way. Check-in and check-out were virtual. I picked up the access card from a machine at the hotel, without visiting reception, which I understood was a long way off. It was a nice stay, perfect if you just need somewhere to sleep. The price was higher than I'd expect for this kind of place, but I booked late and it was the only option available, which explains the higher than usual cost.

There was no soap, and the bedsheets were dirty with lots of human hair. The receptionist wasn't professional during check-in.

Very basic 😬

The beds were first-class, one of the best I've slept in for a long time, and the small bathroom was fine. Still, the shower never got very hot and the water pressure was weak. Please fix that. The rooms were fairly clean and tidy. The hotel itself was fine, but the radiators creak as they heat up and expand, which isn't comfortable when you're trying to sleep. They should be replaced. Getting the chip card from the kiosk took a while because check-in was complicated and the software had issues. Once it worked, everything else was fine.
