The lake's just a five-minute walk away, and it was a nice spot for a swim. It's very peaceful here, though there are plenty of restaurants within a 15-minute drive. We found the bed really comfortable, and the terrace was a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine at sunset. The kitchen is small but had what we needed, and the accommodation covered everything for a couple of days. The hosts were friendly and spoke good English, which helped since our German is terrible. We'd definitely use it again if we're back in the Kiel area.

On a sunny day, you can sit by your own pond and take in the lovely scenery around you. When it's cold and gloomy up north, though, the fireplace is hard to beat.
