The location is the main thing this hotel has going for it. The rest feels completely outdated, and I understand they’re planning to renovate next year and close for two years. For me, this is closer to a 2- or 3-star hotel than a 5-star one. I’m surprised it has kept its 5-star status in Germany, where standards are usually strict. My first room was a reasonable size for a single, but unbearably hot. Reception told me to open the window, though there are no screens and insects could have come in. I later found that the heater was stuck on full despite the thermostat being off. It was broken. I asked to move, but was told the hotel was full. Marta brought me a fan and saw how bad the heat was. She advocated for me, and without her help I might have passed out. The next room was half the size and smelled strongly of mold, but at least the temperature was tolerable. I still had another night to stay and wished I could leave. I worried the smell might make me sick, and planned to ask again about moving, though my first experience with reception left me doubtful. Update: In the morning, a receptionist whose name I didn’t catch gave excellent service and tried to fix things. She promised an adequate room for when I returned from my meeting, and she followed through. I still think the amenities merit 3 stars, but I’m much happier with my room today. For the price, I still can’t honestly recommend the hotel.

The location is the one real plus. Maybe this was a five-star place decades ago, but now the rooms are outdated in every way. There’s no turn-down service, and the hotel seems seriously understaffed. Most of the staff who are there don’t speak German. I hope it gets bought and renovated someday. As it is now, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay at the Nassauer Hof: a beautiful hotel, a lovely room, charming staff, and a perfect location. It feels like the place is winding down a little ahead of the major refurbishment, but we still had a great time. I’d been hoping to stay here for forty years, and now I’m saving up to come back once the renovation is done. I hope it keeps its classy, understated atmosphere. ❤️

The Nassauer Hof is a striking building right in central Wiesbaden, and its location was ideal for our visit to the Christmas Market. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the pool was a welcome extra, and the bar got lively in the evenings. Breakfast was good, though pricey, and I didn’t try the restaurant, which has a Michelin star. The hotel has a grand feel, but it seems dated, like elegance peaked here 40 years ago. Our room was fine, though overpriced, and looked onto an unremarkable courtyard. Smoking is allowed in the bar, which made it unpleasant to spend time there. We arrived by car and couldn’t tell where to stop for valet or luggage, since the circular drive is marked taxis only. Staff were kind, though often seemed annoyed by questions. The pool was nice but only lukewarm, and using the sauna costs extra. Breakfast was decent, but not worth its price. A pleasant enough stay, though the experience doesn’t quite match the impressive exterior.

The thermal bath is a real highlight, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are roomy too. When I waited briefly in the car for my parents by the entrance, someone asked me twice what I was doing. A bit much, though I suppose they’re attentive. Even if this hotel is perhaps 10-20% better than other four-star places in Wiesbaden, it costs almost three times as much. For that price, the value just isn’t there.
