Radisson Blu Schwarzer Bock Hotel

I spent two quiet hours in the “Badhaus,” which you can book privately, and breakfast was another highlight. The team there was warm, friendly, and attentive, and made me feel welcome. Hotel Schwarzer Bock was founded in 1486 and is now part of Radisson Blu. From the moment I arrived, I felt transported to another time. The sense of history felt real, not staged, and the building seemed lovingly cared for down to the details. In the hallways, old wood creaked softly, and gentle light came through the tall windows. My room was calm and elegant, with warm, harmonious colors that suited the building’s historic character. The location is right in the heart of Wiesbaden, just steps from the Kurhaus, the State Theatre, and inviting cafés. I was impressed that Radisson preserved the character of this listed historic property instead of making it unrecognizable. The past has been embraced here. I could almost imagine Hercule Poirot looking up from his newspaper in the lounge before I left and saying, “The little details, mon ami, they are what make the whole complete.” These were much more than just two nights in a hotel. History, comfort, and quiet elegance came together beautifully. It’s a place with soul, grace, and stories that stay with you.

The staff are extremely friendly and professional, always happy to help or suggest local attractions and restaurants. My room was spacious, elegant, and perfectly clean, and the hotel feels sophisticated but still comfortable. Breakfast had lots of fresh food and carefully prepared specialties to choose from. It was a luxurious stay that felt easy and pleasant, and a place where you want to linger a little longer.

The location is great, and I’d happily stay here again. It’s an old hotel, of course, but it doesn’t feel worn out: the rooms, shower, bedding, service and shared spaces were all nice. Opened in 1486, so maybe it really is Europe’s oldest hotel? And did you see that lady on the stairs near the lobby too, or was it just me?

The bath house was spotless and such a relaxing place to unwind. We also slept well in the comfy beds, and the room had lovely amenities. Breakfast was fantastic. I’d definitely come back.
