We found hair clips left by the previous guests under the beds, and there was dust and dirt around. The room was tiny, with a passage to the next room covered over with particleboard, screwed onto the wall instead of fitted flush. There were also greasy marks on the wall above the bed. At least we could cancel immediately without a fee and find somewhere else.

We were more than happy with our overnight stay in a triple room with our child. The room was spotless, very quiet, and had a large flat-screen TV, maybe 48 inches. We didn't see other guests on our floor until breakfast the next morning. The hotel is inside a well-kept office building, which caught us by surprise when we arrived. Reception is on the third floor, while our room was on the first; it seems only those two floors are used for the hotel. Our doorbell went unanswered, and there was no sign outside the first-floor door saying reception was upstairs. There was only another doorbell there. These days, a quick phone call solved it, and Ms. Wolter greeted us warmly. Breakfast was already laid out generously for us. Cold cuts, yogurt, orange juice, milk, and other perishable things were in a refrigerator set up for us in the breakfast room. The coffee machine was ready to go, just needing to be switched on. Some rolls seemed a little stale, probably from the day before, and had been kept in a plastic bag, but they could be toasted. For such a low price, breakfast was unbeatable, with muesli, fruit, cheese, eggs, and all the other things mentioned, perhaps more I've forgotten. There was no fixed menu. Everything was plentiful or individually wrapped and placed on our table. If you want affordable, clean accommodation and don't expect a 5-star hotel, this is a good fit. You wouldn't guess from the room that you're on an office floor. Anyone looking for designer furniture would be disappointed. There are a few minor compromises, minimal staff, no bellhops, and you may need to switch on the coffee machine yourself, but the price and central location make it worthwhile. We often visit friends in Wilhelmshaven and will definitely return.
