Landhaus Wiesemann

We'd definitely return, especially for the spacious apartment, lovely garden and terrace. It's bright and in a wonderful location, and communication with the friendly hostess was excellent and very accommodating. There was some wear in the kitchen, with a fridge and dishwasher that had clearly seen better days. We also had to buy dishcloths and tea towels locally because none were provided.

The terrace was a lovely place to sit, and the large shower was a plus. There were four of us, with two bedrooms and an open-plan kitchen and living room, and the setup worked perfectly. We could walk to everything: Lidl around the corner for breakfast outside, lots of nearby restaurants and cafes, and the Bike Days festival grounds. Parking our motorcycles was easy too. Everything suited us, and we'll definitely be back.

The location is fantastic, with views of all the slopes, and the house could be really beautiful if it were renovated. But Apartment 2 at Landhaus Wiesemann badly needs that work. The carpet was filthy, there was dirt under the beds, the toilet leaked, and everything felt outdated. We spent a weekend there with our children, and the noisy guests coming back from nights out made it seem more suited to partygoers. What a shame ;-(

There was plenty of room for the four of us in the basement apartment, and the garden was great. But the musty, mildew-like smell was everywhere, even in the bedding. Cobwebs and dead spiders were in every corner, and the couch seemed not to have been washed in ages. We couldn't sleep in one bedroom because of the smell, so we chose the dirty couch instead. The worst room we've ever had in Willingen. Never again.
