Campingpark Südheide - Winsen/Aller

The layout keeps traffic limited around the pitches, and it feels well thought out. We could drive straight in after a long day on the road, and the online payments were simple. The pond-style pool was incredible. Building 3 bathrooms is one of the best in Europe, I'd say. The kitchen, indoor play area and spa had everything we needed, and the family-friendly spa was next level.

There was lots for kids to do, so it seems very family-friendly. The staff seemed to be working hard to look after the property, which I appreciated. Our shower was okay, though we had to press the button every five minutes to keep the water running. We stopped overnight on our way north and had an okay stay. The basic package cost €48, which felt quite expensive when we only used the parking and shower. The pool and sauna were available, but we didn't use them. It's a decent stopover spot.

Cash isn't accepted at all, so you'll need a card for every payment, and the place is a bit expensive. Still, it's a really great camping spot, clean throughout, with very friendly people. We'll be back.

We've camped at dozens of places in different countries, and this is probably the best. The management team deserves congratulations. You can tell someone took real care planning it properly. The bathrooms and swimming pool were very clean and well lit, with everything thoughtfully arranged. The toilets and industrial dishwasher were fabulous too. They really put the idea of doing something properly into practice.
