Art House Winterberg

We were there over New Year's 2025-2026, and the stay was a disaster, especially for the price. The landlord was incredibly unfriendly from the start and seemed interested only in making money, with no concern for the accommodation's quality. The furniture was ancient and broken, like it had been pulled from the trash, and the kitchen was dilapidated. There were no smoke detectors in the rooms. We also got no invoice for the €20 per day parking, and the tourist tax cards didn't arrive until a day later. Demand for housing is apparently high enough that he doesn't care about these reviews. Never again.

We were there over New Year's, and both the apartment and landlord were a disaster. He was very unfriendly right from the beginning, and the place cost almost €500 for only two nights, far too much for what you get. The €70 final cleaning fee didn't cover sheets or towels. We brought our own, since those would have cost extra. All the furniture was worn out. It was impossible to get into the holiday mood. Never again.

We were happy with the place, and we had no trouble with the landlord at all. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, unlike what we'd read in other reviews. At €160 per person for two nights, it was well below the usual price in our area. The ski area is less than a five-minute walk away, and there's an inexpensive rental shop on the next street, just behind the building, about two minutes on foot. The apartment is really spacious and comfortable for 10 people. The location was fantastic, the shower huge, and the bathroom never smelled even with all of us there. The kitchen is well equipped. There are two mattress toppers for the double bed, so we made a good bed out of two living room sofas. Parking is €10 per car per night. There's no ski storage room, but the elevator meant that wasn't a problem. Still, a ski room would be great. Thanks again!

They advertise the room for four, but you end up sleeping on the couch and floor. Everything is dirty and smells bad.
