Big Country House

A nice place for a group of friends. We visited in summer and were bothered by lots of flies. It seemed like the garbage disposal for the whole area was at the back of the garden. The house has around ten rooms and could sleep about 20-25 people, though two extra rooms were still being remodeled. The bedrooms were modern and clean, each with its own shower bathroom. There’s a small kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, stove, oven, and fridge, plus an infrared sauna, a dry sauna, and another shower. Parking fits eight cars. Outside, there’s a small garden and a BBQ that hadn’t been cleaned. The living room is big, with a dining table, and there’s a small room with an old piano. There are some old board games and plenty of dishes and cups, but only a few bowls. The land lady was a bit annoying and seemed to complain about nothing to make herself feel important. Luckily, we only saw her at the start and end.

The owners were friendly, and we had a good experience.

We had plenty of room for our annual family holiday in the Winterberg area. Our group of 22 included grandmother, children, grandchildren, and partners, and the house was both spacious and cozy. It’s a great base for walks nearby as well as for skiing. The location is superb, a short distance from the Postwiese Neuastenberg ski area and about a fifteen-minute drive from the larger Winterberg ski area. Bedrooms range from singles to rooms for four, which works well for a mixed group. The big living room is a lovely place to gather, and the kitchen is fully equipped, including a high-speed dishwasher, definitely useful with so many people. A wonderful, well-equipped house in a beautiful spot. Highly recommended for large families or groups!

We had a lovely stay with snow, a ski area, and a sauna, and the house is ideal for a large group, even with a dog. The kitchen has good equipment, the beds were comfortable, the rooms have their own toilets and showers, and every appliance we used worked perfectly. This was our second visit, though, and we noticed that some obvious problems were still there a year later: the broken sofa in the entrance and the chair in the piano room. It’s a shame because we really like the house and location. I sincerely hope they’ll be fixed by our next stay.
