It's very close to the town centre, so the location is great, though there's not much parking outside. The hotel looks lovely and the rooms are nicely equipped. The pool was very nice, but when we asked whether the sauna could be switched on, we got a blunt no and no explanation. Staff were pretty rude, maybe because we were British. At breakfast, another staff member had seated us at a table, then a rude lady told us to move after we'd sat down.

The food still tasted pretty good and the presentation was OK, but it wasn't as good as it used to be. The old school German taste had faded, including the classic German vinegar salad we used to love and the vanilla sauce with the apfelstrudel. The waitress wasn't pleasant, simply refused to speak English, and had no patience, which made the meal much less enjoyable. Compared with how the place was run maybe six years ago, it has gone backwards considerably.

I stayed here last night, and the place wasn't even fully booked, but this was the view from my room. When I complained in the morning, all I got was, “Next time, mention that you don't want this room.” There won't be a next time. Pretty misplaced arrogance 🙄🤣😟

We didn't sleep at all. The mattress and pillows were just trash, and the beds were poor. The manager was impolite and welcomed us with complaints from the very first moment. The staff were polite, which is a pity for them having to work for this man. I would never go back.
