The location is the strongest point: the ski slopes are no more than a five-minute drive away, there’s parking across the street, and the warm, dry basement works well for storing skis or bikes. We were a large family group at Hotel Villa Nordhang for a few days and booked two rooms. It was cozy and warm, and the rooms were comfortable, so there were positives to the stay. The two parts of the hotel have separate entrances. To get between them you have to cross the street and climb several flights of stairs, something to bear in mind if booking multiple rooms. Accessibility is very limited: there’s a ramp at the entrance, then a steep, narrow staircase. Parking also became a problem when the hotel was busy. We were blocked in several times and had to find the car owners in the morning. Some parked right in front of the entrance, leaving us to squeeze through. Clear markings or rules are badly needed. Our rooms differed a lot. One had a smart TV and a good kitchen; the other had a very old mini-TV and a tiny kitchen, though at least it had a dishwasher. In our room there were summer blankets despite the -10°C weather, and no towels or soap. The shower was broken and left puddles everywhere. The floor was uneven, the furniture warped, and there were spiders and dirty corners. The strangest and most painful problem was a huge step right in the middle of our room. One half was 10 cm higher than the other, with no visible change in the floor to warn you. Each of us hit it about three times a day. You don’t get used to it, and some of us fell. At the very least it needs marking, but a gentler transition would be better. I still have some good impressions, mostly because of the location, but there are serious shortcomings. I hope the owners fix these problems. I also want other guests to know about things they may only discover after arriving.

We’d stayed here once before, in fall 2025 outside ski season, with two families. That visit would have earned a somewhat better review, and apartments 9 and 12 were fine. This time, for two nights in January 2026, the booking turned into a disaster. Without asking us, two apartments booked for families of four were combined into one apartment with a sofa bed for six people and another for two. That was unacceptable. The sofa bed in the living room of apartment 9 was rock hard and squeaked at the slightest movement. Nobody could sleep, not even the children. With two people sleeping in the open-kitchen living room, we couldn’t sit together in the evenings. The bunk bed in the same apartment, which had no door to the bedroom, also squeaked constantly and kept waking both children and parents. In apartment 11, the shower leaked and the floor was already swollen. The string lights outside the window blinked constantly. The blankets were much too thin and everyone was cold. We couldn’t get hot water for showering or washing dishes. This was anything but a vacation. We weren’t given information about the apartments we’d be staying in, either at booking or later. For such an expensive holiday, that’s completely unacceptable, like buying a pig in a poke. Steffi, the manager, was nice, but once everything is booked she can’t conjure up another apartment. We’re extremely unhappy with this stay and wouldn’t book again under these conditions. It’s a shame, since after fall 2025 we’d chosen this as a regular place for future get-togethers. That’s no longer happening. (Photo of costs plus tourist tax)

The apartment was very clean, well kept, and just like the photos. But we paid €350 for one night, and after being told someone would arrive around 5:00 PM, we waited outside a locked door for a full hour. At that price, that felt disappointing and unprofessional. We also had to pay €3 per person in tourist tax on top of a nightly rate above €60 per person. I’d expected that amount to be part of the total at those prices. The stay was okay, but the value for money just isn’t there.

A nice place to unwind with family or friends. Prices are affordable, and there’s equipment rental and a ski lift near the house. I recommend it!

The layout of the complex is a little confusing, and some renovations look like they were done on a budget, which may bother some guests. Still, for the price it’s excellent. If those things don’t put you off, Villa Nordhang is definitely worth recommending.
