Landgasthaus Blick ins Tal

We liked our stay at this little hotel, though there are a few things worth knowing. The food was very good, the mattresses were fine, and our room was quite good. The pillows, though, were very soft. The building dates from the 70s and is clearly old, but it does get refreshed: walls were being painted, the dining area looked new, and we saw new TVs being brought in. The man serving us was quiet and not very talkative, but he was helpful and friendly, including with the locals. Just be polite. Smoking does happen in the bar, and the upstairs hallway only smelled of it when people were smoking downstairs. There is a dog called Laika. The owner knows she shouldn't be with guests while they eat, though she tends to bark when you arrive in the parking area. Noise can be an issue at times because the building doesn't keep it out very well.

We had a pleasant stay, with spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, and a nice breakfast. We were only there for one night, and the remote location came with a lovely view, though I imagine there isn't much to do nearby. We did have trouble with the owner while arranging a late night arrival, and the customer service around that wasn't very good.

We left at 2 pm on our first night and drove home. There was a party in the hotel, with drunk people shouting until at least 2.30 am, when we finally left. That kind of noise was completely at odds with the peaceful, quiet atmosphere people come to the Eiffel for. The room was cold, the bed, mattress, and blanket were really awful, and the bathroom ceiling was black with mold. The whole experience was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. Next time, we might as well get ourselves arrested and spend the night in jail!

The meals were excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. It was a lovely, quiet hotel with gorgeous views, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
