Hotel Sudstrand Auf Amrum

I came from Japan and had a car accident on the island, breaking a toe. During my four-day stay, the hotel's kindness made a difficult time feel much warmer. I couldn't walk easily, so they brought breakfast choices to my table, and they kept ice bags for me and brought them to my room several times so I could change them. When I had to leave very early for the ferry, they prepared a breakfast box with a handwritten, heartfelt note from the owner. Thank you, Team. I really appreciate how caring you were. I left the island feeling warmed by your kindness, and I'm recovering well. The room was cozy, clean, and decorated in colors I liked very much.

The hotel is centrally located in Wittdün, just a few minutes' walk from the harbor. We had a clean, cozy apartment with a kitchen. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and breakfast was exceptionally good. Thanks for a lovely stay 🙂. We'll definitely be back soon!

I stayed at Hotel Südstrand from March 8th to March 22nd, 2026, and would love to return. The team's warm, friendly welcome and family-like atmosphere made it feel as if I were staying with friends, and I could completely relax. You can see how much heart everyone puts into their work. I especially appreciated the personal touches. Each morning there was a welcome leaflet at breakfast with carefully chosen sayings, island stories, and excursion recommendations. Book lovers would also enjoy the lovely book waiting on the desk. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the ferry terminal and close to the Wadden Sea. The broad, magnificent Kniepsand beach and impressive dunes are wonderful for walks. Thank you again for such genuine hospitality. Anyone after a relaxing break and a warm welcome will find it here. Hi! We were a family of four at Hotel Südstrand over the Biike weekend and liked it so much that we booked another holiday there later this year. The location is excellent, between the town center and beach promenade, and after a five-minute walk you can take your time strolling ;-) We stayed in an apartment with a practical kitchenette, beautifully furnished and stocked with everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic, with something for everyone: fresh fruit, avocado, sweet and savory choices, hot dishes, and egg dishes cooked to order. Toralf was an attentive, cheerful, friendly host, and the rest of the staff were lovely too.
