We loved what we ordered, especially the Schweinshaxe and fresh seasonal asparagus. The atmosphere captures Wittenberg’s regional feel beautifully. A great spot for a meal and a must-visit.

We went with a group of nearly 40, and the staff got almost all the meals to the table at about the same time. It’s a recommendable place if you enjoy a relaxed Brauhaus atmosphere: the staff were nice, and it suited a large group well. I had a vegetarian salad that cost as much as the meat and fish dishes, so I’m taking off a star. I couldn’t spot any vegan options either. I bet the outdoor beer garden is great in summer.

The Märchen Dinner was the most fun I’ve had over six dinner courses. We also enjoyed the restaurant’s excellent food and in-house beer, and there were entertaining evenings too. The staff were kind and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Nights were quiet.

I found some really interesting beers here that I hadn’t come across elsewhere. The restaurant is tucked away from the main street, giving it a local, family-run feel, yet it’s central and close to many attractions. The traditional dishes are good, portions are generous, and prices are fair. Staff are friendly and helpful. No free Wi-Fi, though, only a paid service, which is a hassle. It’s a very nice rustic German restaurant.
