Romantisches Bed&Breakfast Apfelstern

The house was comfortable and had a woodsy feel, and the location worked well for visiting nearby towns. That's why I'm giving it two stars. But we had a really unpleasant experience with the host's pets. We were relaxing in the courtyard when the host invited me to pet their old gray cat. It seemed friendly at first, then scratched me after two or three pets on the head. Its claws were razor sharp. When I asked, the host said she didn't believe in clipping them. I broke out in hives right away, and my cat allergy flared up for two months after we got back to the states. There are several cats inside and outside, plus a dog, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to animals. The husband chuckled about what happened and joked that next time I should probably stop after one pet. Maybe that was German humor or culture, but it felt awkward and dismissive at the time.

The host was very friendly, and our room was clean. I loved the relaxing feel and all the green pants. We couldn't have breakfast because the kitchen was closed due to covid-19 restrictions. Hopefully we'll come back to enjoy the beautiful garden and try the delicious menu.

Sabine was so helpful when our car broke down at the gast station in Wörnitz. It was a fridaynight, we were heading to Munich, and we spent six hours in the hot sun at 35 degrees celcius, calling our insurance company. They couldn't get the car fixed until the next Monday, so we were incredibly relieved to get a room at Apfelstern. Sabine knew the mechanic down the road and called him for us. He fixed our car the next day, on a Saturday! The people there were extremely kind and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and healthy. Would recommend 10/10!

Such a cozy house for the price. Great value!
