B&B Hotel Wuppertal City-Süd

The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was comfortable, with a large bed, and the hotel is well placed near the Schwebebahn train station.

The shower was great, but the door seemed to have been measured incorrectly, so water ended up all over the floor. There was no privacy curtain facing the flats opposite, which made the small room uncomfortable. There was no tea or coffee in the room, and only one side of the bed had a charging socket. We were there as tourists for two nights, and the stay was OK, but no more than that. Parking costs 8€ per night, and there aren’t enough spaces for a hotel of this size. Staff aren’t available around the clock, and one man looked scruffy, as if he’d just come from the gym. A uniform would look more professional. Housekeeping also disturbed us at 11.35 on checkout day despite the do not disturb sign on the door, so what’s the point of the sign?

At 1am, I spent an hour trying to check in my 8 member's crew on that awful tablet. One room was missing from the reservation, and none of the information had been filled in, so I had to enter everything from names to passport number. How can check-in take almost longer than the stay itself? What a shame.

Reception service was spot on, and the hotel was clean. We needed a simple setup with two rooms, one for us and another for our kids, and it worked well. It’s a simple hotel with a simple breakfast, but our stay was really good. We didn’t have enough time to enjoy the surroundings in Wuppertal, so we booked another stay to make sure we could. Looking forward to coming back.
