The heating in the hotel room I was assigned wasn't working properly, and that affected my stay. I'm currently training in the service industry, where customer satisfaction is a core principle, so it's especially disappointing to have had this experience. I had booked an apartment at home2be apartments (Rauental 26, Wuppertal) through Booking.com for February 4th-5th, 2026, with check-in at 4:00 PM. I arrived on time and had an official booking confirmation. Nobody had told me before arrival that the apartment would be unavailable. Only when I got there did I learn it couldn't be used because of water damage. I was redirected to Hotel Amical (Rauental 24), a change I hadn't requested and that was made because of the situation on site. I find it highly unprofessional and disappointing to tell guests about such a major change only when they arrive. Earlier notice could have prevented a lot of inconvenience. I'd advise future guests to confirm their actual accommodation before setting off.

The apartment was beautiful and lovingly furnished, with everything we needed, and we felt very comfortable. It was a lovely idea to turn an old industrial building into apartments. The outside doesn't look like much, but the inside is absolutely gorgeous. We were warmly welcomed, shown to our apartment, and talked through the check-in process. We'll definitely come back.

The welcome was really kind and patient. Our accommodation was comfortable, spacious, and furnished with care. The place has its own charm, and it was perfectly fine. The parking lot is only a few steps away. 💐

I felt at home right away. The area is very quiet, and the apartment, Galileo, is clean and lovingly furnished as well as good-looking. Check-in was easy. Breakfast can be had at the hotel restaurant next door or brought to the apartment. The Gaskessel is just a few minutes away, and I'd recommend it, including the restaurant after the Monet show. This won't be my last visit!

The bed was king size and super comfortable, and the spacious bathroom had a walk-in rain shower, great flooring, and chic decor. The kitchen had all the useful, stylish utensils for cooking and eating at the breakfast bar. Anyone with even a hint of an eye for aesthetics and modern living will love the room. It's super cool and chic, and the website photos actually undersell it. That trendy old-brick wall isn't some tacked-on hipster effect, either. The rusty old window frame that's been bricked up is real. I've stayed in all sorts of hotels over the past 45 years, from so-so places to an Abu Dhabi 6-Star Suite, and this is my favorite paid accommodation. The value for money is extreme, and it's tucked away in the heart of the city. I'm in the Galileo Room at Home 2Be now, listening to birds and, somewhere far off, the sounds of civilization, maybe airplanes or traffic. It's as quiet as a small village, far away from everything. Through the huge window I can see a little river under a canopy of leaves. Thanks again for the warm welcome. :-) I need to grow my business here so I can stay more often.
