Dinner was the highlight for me: beautifully presented and extremely tasty, with a choice of vegetarian, fish, or meat dishes at breakfast for the evening meal. Soup, buffet salads, and a high-quality dessert are included. Breakfast was fresh and delicious too, and there was cake plus a hot buffet dish in the afternoon. The staff were very friendly, the waiters attentive, and the prices felt perfectly reasonable. I still don’t get why the hotel has 3 stars rather than 4 ;) The hotel has a charming Bavarian look, and the wellness area is roomy, with separate places to relax by the pool and in the nude sauna area. There’s a lovely warm pool, a whirlpool, and a steam room by the pool. The sauna area has an infrared sauna for four, a Finnish sauna, and a low-temperature sauna with cold foot baths. I especially liked the heated loungers in the sauna relaxation room. Drinks and tea are included in the pool area from noon. I came for a short wellness break. The hotel is a little out of the way in a small village, but I got there easily on the forest railway and a short walk. Most people arrive by car. For excursions I’d suggest driving, but the railway works well if, like me, you’re mostly there to relax. You can also order meat from their own livestock ahead of time. I took home some ground beef, the best I’ve had in ages, and the quality was top notch. I’d happily return, especially with a new outdoor pool planned for summer alongside the indoor pool currently being built.

We left after three nights feeling refreshed. The sauna area is small but lovely, and the spa has wonderful rooms to unwind in. The staff were attentive and friendly, and you can tell the family puts a lot of passion into running the hotel. Drinks were fairly priced, still normal compared with other overpriced hotels. The food was delicious, with dinner the highlight every time. We wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.
