Baltic Hotel Zinnowitz

The location is great, but the service was at zero. Staff talked about my husband right in front of me, assuming I couldn’t speak German. When I called out their unacceptable behavior, those Besserwisser still had something to say.

The staff at the à la carte restaurant 'Gynt's' were friendly and customer-focused, a real example for the woman at the front desk, whose lack of friendliness and customer orientation made things worse. Staff English also needs a lot of work to meet international standards. The biggest issue for me was the extra charge for a sea view. Our third-floor room looked out over the whole treeline, with just a glimpse of the sea way off on the right. That felt like a total rip-off. For what we paid, the whole stay was below expectations, and I’ve stayed in much better hotels for less. I assume the location is what people are paying for, but there’s work to do. The hotel needs modernizing, even though the room furniture has been renewed. The bathroom was quite basic and partly run down. €190 to €260 a night for a standard room with breakfast is way over the top, especially with another sauna surcharge after paying so much for the room.

The spa and swimming pool are excellent, and the location is very good, near the sea and close to the center of Zinnowitz. There isn't really anything else to mention. The service from the friendly, helpful staff is great.

Our first stay at hotel Baltic, traveling with our dog all the way from Stuttgart, was a big disappointment. Keep an eye on your things in the room. Housekeepers take whatever you leave behind, and NOBODY seems to care or returns anything you forget there!
