The room has the microwave, kettle, and minibar Ulrike Läpple mentioned. The toilet and shower share the room with the bed, which took a little getting used to, though there’s hardly any toilet smell. The old windows let in some traffic noise, but nights are quiet apart from the water pump. After flushing, it keeps running for 2-3 minutes. The price feels fair enough. The building and entrance look a bit off-putting, but it’s clean and secure at night with the door codes; during the day, the doors are open. There are three parking spots across the river.
The bathroom looked clean, but the room itself had a really unpleasant smell. We also had to deal with at least three spiders per curtain when opening the windows. Given the state of the rooms, the price is far too high, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
Right in the center of Zwiesel, the guesthouse has a hard-to-beat location, and the owner is very friendly. I really appreciate how much effort he puts into making things nice. The rooms are lovely, with a microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and small fridge; two bottles of Dampfbräu beer and a bottle of water were waiting for us. Don’t let the unrenovated entrance put you off. It’s a genuinely affordable place to stay, and I highly recommend it.
Clean, but a bit odd. Fine for a night or two.
The rooms are too small, the toilets in the building stink, and the building is too dirty.
