Pension Café Papke

The hosts were very friendly, and the breakfast buffet was varied, at €6 per person. The price for what you get is very good, and I can recommend the guesthouse without hesitation. The buildings and rooms are furnished with care. My room, including the kitchen and bathroom, was spotless.

We had a peaceful, independent 14-day holiday here and felt the price was absolutely right for what we got. The location is excellent for hikers, with a large cross-country ski area and a small ski slope nearby. Pension Papke has a bakery right next door, and other shops are only a few minutes away by car. The Arber Aktiv Card also gives access to lots of free activities, including swimming, skiing, buses and trains, and excursions, which can help save even more. We brought two dogs and that was no problem. One small suggestion: a vacuum cleaner in the apartment would be useful for cleaning up after them. The parking space right outside the door is spacious. The apartment was ready and in perfect order when we arrived. It has a large double bed, wardrobe and extra storage, a couch with footstool, a desk with a lockable drawer, and a decent TV. The bathroom is small but adequate, with a sink, toilet, shower, and hairdryer. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a coffee machine, though a kettle was missing. There’s also a large corner balcony with a table, two chairs, and sun loungers. The housekeeper was friendly and did a good job. She cleaned the apartment fully once during our stay, changed the bedding, and later changed the towels and took out the rubbish twice without us asking. We’d happily come back.

We stayed overnight and had a good breakfast, with fresh, warm rolls from their own bakery!

It has a real family feel, and I felt very comfortable here.
