The room worked well for our family of four for a night on the way to the ferry. It was clean, newly renovated, a sensible size and layout, and the beds were comfortable. Getting the room number and door PIN by email on the morning we arrived was a nice, practical touch. There’s a good bakery right next door, supermarkets nearby, and the beaches are about 15-20 minutes away. The town seemed fine too. A tip for the top bunks: the safety rails are tucked under the mattress and can be pulled up. Ask for a room facing the car park if street noise is a concern. We heard quite a lot from the street on Saturday night, though that’s not the hotel’s fault. The big problem was the heat. It wasn’t especially hot outside, but the room stayed far too warm all night, even with the windows open, and we couldn’t find a way to turn the temperature down. Fix that and I’d have given it five stars.
