Hotel Søparken

The rooms were big and fairly clean. We paid for two nights with meals for four people, with no discount for the children. The food was included in the package, but we were charged for plain tap water. Coffee and cake were included, yet there was no drink for the children, who obviously don’t drink coffee, and those cost extra. At dinner, a welcome drink was included, but there was no alcohol-free option. The glasses were already filled with lukewarm white wine when we arrived at the table. When we said we don’t drink alcohol, and that the children obviously don’t drink wine, nobody offered anything else. The food itself was ordinary but okay. Most of the other guests were older couples, so it didn’t feel like an ideal place for kids. There wasn’t anything to visit or see within walking distance.

The food was traditional Danish, and the service was great. The rooms are a little tired, but they’re clean and comfortable.

The service was friendly and the food was good, but there’s an awful smell in the upstairs corridor that follows you into the room. You really seem to have a sewer problem. The bathroom heating didn’t work either.

It’s a neat, good hotel to stay in, though the amenities could be better. Breakfast was okay, but there weren’t many choices. It’s very far from the city.
