The rooms are on the small side, but the layout makes good use of the space, with enough storage and conveniently placed outlets. The lighting works for both a comfortable atmosphere and getting things done. The hotel is easy to reach from transport, restaurants, and main attractions, and the staff were consistently courteous and attentive. What I liked most is that Scandic Aalborg City sticks to the basics and does them well. It was clean, comfortable, and dependable, without trying to be something it isn't. A good value if you want a well-kept, uncomplicated stay. I'd come back.

I usually choose Scandic when I'm traveling for work, and although the quality is consistent across the hotels, this is the only one I've felt like reviewing. The receptionist made the stay especially nice. She seemed to love her job, joked around with me, and matched my humor. It's a small thing, but when you're away from home, a cheerful welcome makes a real difference.

The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Although the hotel is in the centre, it's tucked behind a row of houses, so the rooms are sheltered from main-street noise. They were cosy and quiet, and the beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get up. Smokers can use the heated area outside the building. Highly recommended in Aalborg.
