Hotel Guldsmeden Aarhus

The service was the strongest part of my stay. I arrived late at night and called to get someone to let me in; they answered immediately and were very helpful. The receptionists I saw each morning were kind and did their best to make me feel welcome. My bed was made every day, and it seemed someone checked that the room stayed clean, though I hadn't left a mess. I felt comfortable there, with enough heating that I could adjust myself. The hotel and my room were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was near the centre. I booked their most expensive room, so I'm not sure what the other rooms are like. The decor felt old-fashioned and rustic, the furniture was cheap-looking and worn, and the bathroom, although very clean, seemed like a cheap addition. I'd read that some rooms don't have private bathrooms, so I was glad mine did. I didn't try breakfast. It looked nice and seemed to include things from a local bakery just down the road, which I visited and enjoyed. The breakfast selection did look a bit small. Considering the cost and what you get, and how expensive everything else nearby is, I'd call it a good deal for a couple of days in Aarhus on a budget. For a nicer room and modern amenities, I'd look elsewhere.

The staff were really nice, and the rooms were beautiful.

I had a cosy stay in a nice place right in the center of Aarhus, with a great breakfast. My room was in the Annex, where the toilet and shower are out in the corridor. That setup isn't for me, so next time I'll try to get a room in the main building. It's somewhere I'd like to come back to.

The location is great, right in the center with lots of restaurants around. The rooms were quite small, with a shared wc, and ventilation wasn't very good. Breakfast wasn't that good either.
