Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Aarhus

The breakfast spread was perfect, with high-quality food and an excellent variety of drinks. The location is superb. I also appreciated the reliable Wi-Fi, large TV, and handy electric kettle. Cleanliness was average, and the shower pressure and toilet flush were both weak. The elevators were terrible and honestly felt unsafe. One major flaw is that if someone is already inside and has selected a floor, you have to travel to their floor before you can enter yours.

The breakfast room felt cosy, and there was plenty of delicious food, including cava. Staff at breakfast, reception, and housekeeping were all lovely and helpful. We spent two nights here and would happily return. Our room was bright and spacious, with a lovely city view, though some bathroom tiles were broken and it felt a bit worn. The shampoo and body lotion were nice. We also had a Nescafé machine and a kettle for tea and hot chocolate. Since the bed had one double duvet, we asked for another and it arrived within about 10 minutes. At check-in we were given a free upgrade to the Executive top floor, and found chocolate and a personal note from the general manager in the room. The hotel is right in the heart of Århus.

The rooms were clean, and the service was good, so the hotel met our expectations in those respects. We enjoyed our stay overall. Breakfast was the weak point: there was a reasonable selection, but not one thing changed during our whole stay. For a brand like Radisson Blu, we expected more variety. Even a few small changes each day would have improved it.

The young man with blond, wavy hair who served us in the restaurant was great with customers. The rest of the stay was much less impressive. Water flooded the bathroom floor because the shower glass did little to contain it, and the handheld shower sprayed from the hose. The toilet kept flushing until I made an effort to stop it. The bed was so small I worried I might fall out if I turned over. There were no foam pillows, so bear that in mind if you have allergies. There isn't much at the hotel. If you want coffee or tea in the morning, you have to pay DK240 for breakfast. At this price, I think there must be better options in Aarhus. They should at least check rooms before putting guests in them.
