Badehotel Harmonien

Dinner and the conversations with Monica were the highlight. She explained each dish, its ingredients and what it meant, which made the food even more enjoyable. I didn't skip a single meal. You can tell Monica puts her heart and passion into the hotel and restaurant. Susi made an amazing breakfast with a little Italian touch. The room and meal prices are reasonable for an island like Ærøskøbing, which has no bridges and depends on the ferry. We felt more like friends than hotel guests. Grazie di tutto for such a nice experience! Badehotel Harmonien has a special place in my heart. Monica, the lovely host and owner, welcomed us warmly. The rooms were cozy and clean, and felt more like home than any modern hotel. She showed us around, explained everything clearly, made sure we had what we needed, and always checked on us. We appreciated how honest she was. We had planned 3 nights, but a ferry cancellation meant we couldn't get there on time, and Monica made sure we didn't have to pay for the extra night. Although the bathroom and shower are shared, she arranged for the other guests to be on the other floor, giving us more privacy. The lobby and living room have a good choice of books in English, Danish and German, as well as a TV and lots of board games. We enjoyed evenings playing chess and other games there. There's parking in front of the hotel, and a lovely sea view with shallow water.

The pizza, cooked in a large wood-fired oven, was fantastic. We were there in mid September, and the food and weather couldn't have been better. We found plenty of outdoor seating too. This is a review of the restaurant only, not the hotel rooms, which we didn't see or stay in. We stumbled upon it and were seated straight away. The ambiance is charming, with room for couples, families and large parties, and we saw all kinds of groups there. We sat by the windows and had a romantic panorama of the water and the full moon rising. The view couldn't have been better. They stay open until 10pm and serve beer and wine. They said they also plan to stay open through winter. As I understand it, many restaurants in aeroskobing close or have limited hours then. I think this place will be a hit on Aero.

We were wandering around without a plan when locals directed us here, since it was the only place open until 22:00. The pizza was outstanding, and tremendous for the price, in an idyllic location overlooking the water. This is a review of the restaurant side only. The new owners had only been there for 4 months, so I don't know whether there's going to be a name change or if it's already happened.

They made us feel welcome, and by the time we left it felt like family. The staff were friendly and everything was very clean. We had great pizza and freshly made pasta. I'd recommend the place and plan to visit again.
